The Faroe Islands 'National' Art Museum
The Faroe Islands Art Museum is situated in the park to the west of the sports stadium, appox. 5 minutes walk from the Nordic House in Tórshavn.
Organisation
The Faroe Islands Art Museum is an independent institution.
The four members of the governing body represent the Faroese government (the chairman), Listafelag Føroya (Faroe Islands Art Society), Føroysk Myndlistafólk (The Faroese Society of Visual Arts) and Tórshavn town council.
The members of the board of governors are elected for 4 years. The board appoints the curator of the gallery for a period of 5 years.
